Joint Venture Provides for Future Expansion, Growth of Landmark Oxbow Public Market
SAN FRANCISCO, August 14, 2015—A joint venture between Madison Marquette and Carlin Company has resulted in the successful recapitalization of the Oxbow Public Market, a landmark retail center located in the heart of iconic Napa, CA. At 98 percent leased, Oxbow Public Market is a nationally recognized, 30,000 square foot retail center offering one of the most innovative and impactful platinum-level public market concepts in the world.
“We are delighted to participate in this important joint venture which assures the future growth and prosperity of Oxbow Market. The opportunity to work with Steve Carlin on this exciting retail property, with its significant momentum and upside, is also ideally suited to our integrated investment and operating platform,” said Eric Hohmann, President of Madison Marquette.
“We’ve been at this project for 10 years and our investors have demonstrated patience and foresight regarding the location and potential of the concept,” stated Steve Carlin, CEO and Founder of Oxbow Public Market. “For Market guests, nothing really changes. Oxbow Public Market will continue to be the community-gathering place for enjoying locally sourced, artisanal products. With the addition of Madison Marquette, Oxbow Public Market is better positioned to grow and improve the customer experience that reflects living in and enjoying the Napa Valley.”
The appealing tenant mix at Oxbow Public Market, opened by Oxbow Management LLC in 2008, is well diversified and perfectly tailored to the affluent and sophisticated tastes of both locals and tourists. Several of Oxbow’s tenants are also represented at the popular Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco – including Hog Island Oyster Co., Gott’s Roadside, and Oxbow Cheese and Wine (Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant in San Francisco). Oxbow also features some of California’s most popular restaurants and artisan food retailers, including Five Dot Ranch, C Casa, The Fatted Calf, Kitchen Door, Model Bakery, and Ritual Coffee.
“Together with Steve Carlin, we are committed to fully leveraging this recapitalization to build on Oxbow’s extraordinary record of success in this high-value market,” said Chad Eisenbud, Madison Marquette’s Director of Investments, West Coast. “We are also focused on strengthening and extending Oxbow’s brand with its broad and dedicated consumer base with continued excellence of service throughout – something for which Madison Marquette has long been recognized.”
