Sausalito, CA (June 14, 2017) – Meridian Commercial President Matt Brown announced today that his firm has represented Tilden Preparatory School in leasing a commercial building in Sausalito for its first Marin campus.
Tilden Preparatory School leased 6,616 square feet at 1050 Bridgeway in Sausalito near the intersection of Johnson Street, a block from Caledonia Street. Meridian’s Angela Barker represented the private school director in a five-year lease with two five-year lease renewal options.
The building has been vacant in recent years, though the single-story building formerly housed the media company, Marinscope, and was originally the Sausalito Post Office. Tilden Prep took occupancy of the property on June 5 and plans to open for summer school on June 19.
There is an open house at the property — open to the public — on Thursday, June 15 from 3 pm to 7:30 pm.
“We worked very hard to be open by June 12th so that students could sign up for the summer session, which will run through August 18th. After receiving requests from a number of Marin families, we look forward to serving the Marin community,” said Rebecca Hobbs, M.A., who is the new Director of Tilden Prep in Sausalito. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Arts in Organization and Leadership in Education from the University of San Francisco. Rebecca worked as a teacher at Tilden Prep Albany, where she assisted in curriculum development and became adept at identifying learning style strengths and preferences for each student.
Tilden Prep also has two East Bay campuses — one in Albany and one in Walnut Creek. Rebecca’s mother, Karen Hobbs, Ph.D. is co-director of the two East Bay campuses.
Tilden Prep is a Western Association of Schools and Colleges-accredited (WASC) Bay Area school with a 10+ year history of helping students succeed through individualized instruction. The unique one-to-one and small group teaching model allows Tilden to tailor instruction to each individual student. This insures that students remain engaged and motivated to achieve their academic goals and maximize opportunities to delve into their personal interests. Tilden uses a mastery learning approach, where students experience tremendous success in their courses and increased confidence for future learning. Tilden graduates have been accepted by a wide range of universities throughout the country and abroad. The school offers full-time high school, middle school, individual courses, and tutoring services.
