Michael McCann and Yunho Lee Join HKS San Francisco

DALLAS – Michael McCann, AIA, LEED AP, has joined HKS’ San Francisco office as vice president and technical director. McCann has more than 20 years of experience designing and executing with his technical and managerial skill set, most recently for Solomon Cordwell Buenz in San Francisco.


McCann has a robust range of experience in various market sectors, including mixed-use and multi-family/high-rise residential and hospitality.

Prior to joining HKS, McCann served as a project manager on several high-rise residential projects, including a 9-story, 114 unit project at 923 Folsom and a 41-story, 400-unit project at 340 Fremont, both in San Francisco.

McCann received a degree in Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University. He is licensed to practice architecture in the state of California.


Yunho Lee has joined HKS’ San Francisco office as an associate and senior designer. Lee brings 20 years of professional experience, most recently working for HOK and SAMOO Architects & Engineers, a company affiliated with Samsung in Seoul, Korea.

Lee has a comprehensive range of experience in various market sectors, including healthcare, hospitality, aviation, transportation, corporate headquarters, and exhibition/convention center projects, both in and outside the U.S. He began his career in Korea in 1996 and relocated to New York in 2000 before moving to the Bay Area in 2004.

While he was with HOK, Lee served as a project designer for seven years at the Hamad International Airport in Qatar and was a senior designer on the 535 Mission Tower in San Francisco.

Lee received a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from Kyungnam University in Korea and a Master of Architecture degree from Cornell University in 2003.
