Carter’s selected South Shore Center primarily due to the recent influx of family-friendly tenants and the center’s focus on events that appeal to children, teens and adults, noted Sara Sanders, first vice president at the San Francisco Bay Area brokerage SRS Real Estate Partners, who represented Carter’s in the transaction. The new Carter’s store, located close to Kohl’s, is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2014.
“With more visitors coming to South Shore Center for family events, dining and shopping, Carter’s realized this was an excellent opportunity for a new store location,” said Julie Taylor, senior vice president of Cornish & Carey Commercial Newmark Knight Frank, who along with broker Stephen Rusher, handled the lease for Jamestown.
