Cushman & Wakefield represents landlord in new 14,556 square foot Oakland office lease
OAKLAND, Calif., October 6, 2021 – Cushman & Wakefield announced 601 City Center, a 24-story, 600,000-square-foot Class A office tower in downtown Oakland, has added new tenant, Degenkolb Engineers. The engineering firm leased 14,556 square feet on the 4th floor.
Owned and developed by Shorenstein Properties, the modern high-rise in the heart of Oakland’s central business district was completed in 2019, representing Oakland’s first new ground-up office tower in over the previous decade.
Cushman & Wakefield’s John Dolby in collaboration with Tom McDonnell of Shorenstein and Mark Anderson of Avison Young represented the landlord in the transaction.
“We are thrilled to welcome Degenkolb as our newest tenant at 601 City Center, and in continuing our goal of attracting strong, quality tenants to this premier workplace,” said Tom McDonnell, Senior Vice President, National Leasing Director at Shorenstein Properties. “Oakland remains an attractive market for companies either repositioning or growing here or migrating from other markets due to its robust labor, amenities, transportation and accessibility, and housing.”
McDonnell continued, “The building currently offers a great variety of leasing options that can suit small, mid-size and large occupiers.”
601 City Center provides tenants easy access to numerous dining, shopping, entertainment and other amenities and is also close to BART, 580/880 freeway access, Old Oakland and Jack London Square and SF Bay Ferry access.
The property’s on-site amenities include a well-appointed lobby/reception, conference center, upscale fitness center, outdoor rooftop deck with seating area/lounge and putting green, and two stories of underground parking. The high-rise also offers views of San Francisco, Oakland, the Bay and surrounding areas.
601 City Center is also the largest “Green” Class A building in the East Bay region.
