New Hires Signify Expansion of OCMI Cost Management in Northern California

SACRAMENTO, CA — OCMI is proud to announce the addition of Cheryl Kurtz as Regional Cost Manager and Laurel Long as Associate Director of Cost Management to its Sacramento and San Francisco offices. Kurtz and Long are skilled preconstruction cost managers who bring significant regional experience in construction cost estimating and cost management to the firm.

Kurtz has worked in the construction industry since 2004, developing client relationships based on quality, trust, and value with California clients in K-12 and higher education, municipal and state government, transit, and the private sector. She is knowledgeable in comprehensive cost management across all phases of design and construction, as well as in various construction delivery methods.

As Regional Cost Manager, Kurtz leads the Northern California cost estimating team, ensuring accurate construction budgeting and cost management for design and construction projects while supporting client development initiatives. This will enhance OCMI’s ability to serve architects, engineers, public agencies, higher education institutions, and private-sector clients across the Sacramento region, Bay Area, and Northern California.

With more than two decades of AEC industry experience, Associate Director of Cost Management Laurel Long has worked extensively on California healthcare, K-12, and higher education projects. With a thorough understanding of DSA and HCAI requirements, she supports healthcare clients with cost estimating, cost management, and budget planning, with a focus on achieving the client’s goals. In her role, Long will primarily manage the development and delivery of cost estimates for projects in OCMI’s growing healthcare sector.
