Daiso, a growing Japanese discount retailer, is expanding its presence in the San Francisco Bay Area to include the city of Fremont, CA. Daiso leased 8,400 square feet of space at the Fremont Hub Shopping Center located at Argonaut Way & Mowry Ave. Fremont Hub is a midsize open-air mall that features courtyards & a varied range of local & chain tenants, including Michaels, Trader Joe’s, Ross Dress for Less and Bed Bath and Beyond. This will be Daiso’s tenth store in the Bay Area, with store locations planted across the region in eight different cities. The retailer offers quality household products including dining and kitchenware, home decor, health and beauty, hardware and other household items at discounted pricing. Jennifer Hibbitts with Cushman & Wakefield’s Retail Services group in Larkspur (North Bay) in collaboration with Ken Shishido of Jones Lang LaSalle in Los Angeles represented the tenant in the transaction.
Daiso carries nearly 70,000 products and almost all of them were developed in-house. Daiso has over 3,000 stores in Japan and all over the world.
