Rita Hernandez Wins 2016 IREM® REME Award for CPM® of the Year

(San Francisco, Nov. 30, 2016) – Rita Hernandez, CPM®, General Manager at Brickman in San Francisco, CA, was recently honored with the 2016 REME Award for CPM® of the Year by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®). The prestigious award recognizes real estate management excellence and outstanding contributions to the real estate management profession and the local and international community. Hernandez accepted her award at the IREM® Fall Conference in San Diego, CA.

Hernandez achieved her CPM® designation from the IREM® in 1993. During her 25 plus years in the industry, she has attained a broad range of real estate, property/asset management, leasing, construction management, and business development skills. She has managed office, telecom and retail properties with the highlight of her career being the GM for the historic Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco. Her expertise is managing buildings that are being repositioned in the market.

Hernandez believes in giving back to the community and was Co-Chair of the IREM® REstart Program, a residential management vocational training program for women recovering from domestic violence. In 2003, she received the Franklyn D. Lyons Award for outstanding career service and was also included in a nation-wide listing of “Women Changing The World of Real Estate Management” in the March/April issue of the Journal of Property Management (JPM) publication.

“Rita constantly is involving staff, friends, industry associates and partners in events, providing guidance to candidates and prospective members, including setting up a Chapter mentoring event in May 2016,” states Dan Stuber, CPM®, Franklin Templeton, 2012 IREM San Francisco Chapter President, “She brought together a dozen high ranking leaders of real estate management to answer questions, provide career counseling and enable introductions in a speed dating format so students, those newer in the industry and Chapter members could connect.
