Elaine Sahlins, MAI, an appraiser practicing for 25 years in California and throughout the US, specializes in the appraisal of hotels and casinos. She is a Senior Vice President with HVS in San Francisco and has been with the firm since 1997. In that time, she has developed a niche for resort feasibility studies, appraisal of complex leases, partial interest appraisals, casino/gaming valuations, management company valuations, and hotel market analysis. Elaine authors HVS’ annual Hotel Development Cost Survey (since 1998).
The MAI designation is awarded after a rigorous program of advanced education, practical experience, and testing that demonstrates professional knowledge, understanding, and ability.
The MAI designation has long been recognized by courts of law, governmental agencies, financial institutions and investors as marks of excellence in the field of real estate valuation and analysis.
