San Francisco Office of WSP Flack + Kurtz Adds Vice President and Senior Associate

SAN FRANCISCO – WSP Flack + Kurtz, the international engineering firm, has appointed Herbert Els, RCDD, CCNA, and Don Kuellmer to the posts of vice president and senior associate, respectively, in the San Francisco office.

Mr. Els, who has nearly 15 years of experience in the design and implementation of a wide range of information technology systems, will serve as the office’s head of IT.  Previously, he served as a senior associate at Shen Milsom & Wilke, a consulting and technology design firm.  During his tenure there, he worked on such projects as the Transbay Transit Center and the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, the Packard Foundation Headquarters in Los Altos, several laboratory and critical facilities at UC San Francisco, and many others.

Mr. Els received a B.S. in kinesiology and zoology and a B. Honors in sport and recreation management and marketing, and sports psychology from the University of Stellenbosch in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

Mr. Kuellmer will lead the office’s commissioning team.  He has more than 35 years of engineering experience, with a special focus on mission-critical projects.  His commissioning experience encompasses not only these projects, but also LEED Fundamental and Enhanced projects for such San Francisco entities as the GSA Federal Justice Tower; Foundry Square, Building III; and

Mr. Kuellmer received a B.S. in surveying and photogrammetry from California State University in Fresno.
