Matt Chin and Chris DeHaan Earn New Roles for their Accomplishments
SAN MATEO, CA (March 7, 2019) – Sares Regis Group of Northern California (SRGNC)’s residential development division has announced two promotions within its team. Matt Chin has been promoted to Senior Vice President for his work on land acquisitions and debt and equity financings, while Chris DeHaan has earned the new role of Assistant Vice President for his leadership in the development and completion of two separate peninsula projects.
As Senior VP of Acquisitions, Matt Chin is responsible for driving the residential development team’s pipeline of deals. Matt joined SRGNC in 2014 from Oaktree Capital Management, and has since been instrumental in helping the company with land acquisitions and debt and equity financings for over 20 new projects. Moving forward, Matt will continue to drive the team to pursue new business as a valuable resource in identifying new development opportunities, coordinating capital market relationships, and business development. Matt takes on an active leadership role in the local chapter of the Urban Land Institute by conceptualizing, organizing, and hosting numerous successful after-hours events throughout the year throughout the Bay Area. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Chris DeHaan has earned his promotion to Assistant VP though leading the project teams of Colonnade in Los Altos and The Ashton in Belmont. Since joining SRGNC in 2013, he has been instrumental in the successful completion of Colonnade, its subsequent re-positioning as Stanford faculty and staff housing, and its ultimate sale to Stanford University. Chris has also led The Ashton project team on a day-to-day basis for the past three years, helping to guide and deliver this condominium community through completion and into the start of sales.
In his new role as Assistant VP, he will stay with The Ashton team through the project’s closeout, and then assume day-to-day management responsibilities for SRGNC’s 1001 N. Shoreline apartment and condominium project in Mountain View. Chris will also lead efforts to lease up and optimize the value of the residential team’s retail development portfolio, which includes 5,000 square feet at The Ashton and 20,000 square feet in downtown Fremont. He holds a BS in Construction Management from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
