Sedgwick Expands Real Estate and Finance Practice

San Francisco, – Sedgwick LLP announces the addition of Laurie Gustafson to its Real Estate and Finance Practice as a partner in its San Francisco office. Gustafson’s practice focuses on commercial real estate, including real property acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, financing, construction, development and management.

“Laurie’s extensive transactional real estate experience will complement our existing real estate and finance, real estate litigation, land use and natural resources, construction, and other practices.  Considered an industry leader, Laurie is widely respected within the real estate arena and is extremely involved in the professional community,” said Sedgwick’s Real Estate Chair Anna Shimko.

Gustafson handles a large range of projects including offices, corporate campuses, retail, restaurants, shopping centers, multi-family, industrial, rural, infrastructure and mixed use projects. She assists clients with the acquisition and disposition of commercial real property, due diligence, financing, leasing, design and construction, development and management.

Gustafson represents public entities in complex matters related to the dissolution of redevelopment agencies. She works closely with publically traded technology companies on leasing, acquisition and design and construction projects. Gustafson counsels corporate clients with regard to the leasing and management of properties. She is also experienced in handling matters with an international component.

Gustafson is actively involved in the San Francisco real estate community, serving on the Board of Directors for CREW-SF (Commercial Real Estate Women) and currently holding the offices of director of membership and secretary. She is also a member of the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR) and CoreNet Global Northern California Chapter.

Gustafson earned her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law (King Hall) (1984), her M.A. from Southern University (1974) and B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley (1973), Phi Beta Kappa.
