Shorenstein Properties Retains Cassidy Turley to Secure Tenant(s) for 596,767 SF Oakland High-Rise, 601 City Center

23-Story LEED Platinum Building to Provide Dramatic Addition to Oakland Skyline

Oakland, CA – October 3, 2012 – Cassidy Turley, a leading commercial real estate services provider in the U.S., has announced that property owner Shorenstein Properties has retained the firm for the pre-leasing assignment of 601 City Center, a planned 23-story, 596,767-square-foot Class A office high-rise that will be positioned in the heart of Oakland’s City Center. John Dolby, Senior Vice President and Dane Hooks, Associate with Cassidy Turley’s Oakland office will handle the leasing responsibilities on behalf of Shorenstein, which plans to develop the building once a major tenant(s) is secured.

Measuring 596,767 square feet of gross leasable area in 23 stories, 601 City Center will provide a dramatic new addition to the Oakland skyline while offering phenomenal 360-degree views of San Francisco and the Oakland hills. 601 City Center will be constructed with high quality materials including natural stone at the ground floor, cast stone panels, high performance dual-glazed tinted windows and painted aluminum. A translucent illuminated glass crown will create a distinctive addition to the Oakland skyline. The main entry plaza and ground floor retail will feature a combination of stone and wood finishes and a soaring 20-foot glass entrance wall. A landscaped garden area at 11th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way will provide a second entrance to the building. When completed, 601 City Center will also incorporate a number of green design strategies that were integrated into the building to achieve LEED Platinum Certification. 601 City Center is conveniently located nearby public transportation, with the 12th Street BART station just a few blocks away, as well as access to AC Transit, the Oakland Ferry and Ride Share. There are also several retail, dining, fitness, and lodging options nearby offered in downtown Oakland.
