SAN FRANCISCO — Gensler, the leading global design firm, announced today that technology specialist Andrew Bornand has joined Gensler as a director of digital technology in the company’s San Francisco office. Bornand will lead the digital technology strategy team which integrates design and technology to create the level of interactive experiences that today’s consumers demand.

“Andrew’s ability to weave technology into store design has resulted in successful and creative retail and e-commerce strategies for a wide range of companies. His skills will be a great asset as we increasingly leverage technology into design solutions for all of our clients,” said Michael Bodziner, a principal in Gensler’s San Francisco office.

With more than 20 years of experience in designing technology initiatives for a variety of clients including Fortune 100 companies, and end-to-end solutions for smaller businesses, Bornand specializes in creating innovative, customized digital strategies.

“Retail is undergoing a transformation. Customers have embraced technology and shopping behaviors have evolved. Brands have new opportunities to use technology to create a connected store experience, build stronger customer relationships, enable seamless omni-channel commerce, and realize operational efficiencies,” said Bornand. “Gensler has a long history of helping retail brands expand in new ways and understands the big picture issues retailers are facing. I’m excited to help expand these capabilities at such a pivotal time.”
