SAN FRANCISCO, CA – January 23, 2020 – Award winning commercial interior general contractor Skyline Construction announced today the appointment of Rene Olivo to President of its 100% employee-owned firm. A sophisticated construction leader with nearly three decades of industry experience, Olivo brings tremendous operational insight and the proven ability to help established companies scale to reach business goals, while maintaining the highest level of client satisfaction and safety adherence.

As President, Olivo will enhance Skyline’s solid reputation in the commercial interiors marketplace to ensure that transparency and consistency are interwoven into every client experience. He will improve operational procedures and workflows to help the business scale efficiently, while developing emerging leaders, recruiting talented professionals and implementing training programs to guarantee that employees are at the center of the firm’s focus.

Olivo is uniquely qualified to support Skyline’s growth. He began his career as a summer intern prior to graduating from San Diego State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Rene worked his way up from a Project Engineer to a Project Executive, wearing every hat and experiencing many types of construction from ground-up to commercial interiors, healthcare, education, life science, semiconductor and pharmaceuticals, before moving into a Vice President role 12 years ago. He was responsible for opening and growing his former firms Irvine, Los Angeles and San Diego offices. He also served as the firm’s diversity director and successfully implemented workforce programs to meet diversity requirements.
At the time of his departure, he was Sr. Vice President of Operations, overseeing the entire Southern California region with revenue over $500 million a year. Rene has experience managing every aspect of the business including preconstruction, project execution, completion and client relationship development. Some of his notable clients included Pfizer, Hewlett Packard, Kaiser, SeaWorld, UCLA, Children’s Hospital – Los Angeles, and BioMed Realty.
