Work is progressing on Station 1300, the new mixed-use development at 1300 El Camino Real adjacent to the Caltrain railroad, between Oak Grove and Glenwood Avenues. The project features the construction of 183 apartment units and 220,000 sq. ft. of commercial space atop two levels of below-grade parking.
Excavation work is complete and the crews have started construction of the columns and underground parking levels. Concrete pouring for the parking structure and ground-level podium will continue through fall of this year. Lane closures on northbound El Camino Real and a lane shift on Oak Grove Avenue will occur for the concrete pouring. Two-way traffic on Oak Grove Avenue will be maintained with traffic control flag persons on the pour days. In an effort to help reduce the duration of construction, the City has issued a noise ordinance exemption to allow work that may exceed the limitations outlined in the noise ordinance. The exemption will allow concrete pouring and finishing work from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays between June 18 and September 18, 2018. Lane closures on northbound El Camino Real will not extend past 3 p.m. Lane closures on Oak Grove Avenue may occur from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. during summer break and will not extend past 3 p.m. when schools are back in session.
The parking structure is scheduled for completion in spring of 2019, the office phases in early 2020 and the residential component scheduled to be completed before the end of 2020.
