SAN FRANCISCO (Jan. 15, 2013) – Steinberg Architects, an international design firm with offices in San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles and Shanghai, today announced the promotion of four new Principals: Jeff Berg, AIA, LEED AP and Issac Zamora in San Jose; Bob Lavey, AIA, LEED AP in Los Angeles; and, Jason Briscoe, AIA in Shanghai.

These four new Principals at Steinberg Architects contribute a combined 75 years of experience in architecture:
Jeff Berg, AIA, LEED AP – Berg has been with Steinberg Architects for more than 20 years. As a Senior Project Manager and the Operations Manager for the San Jose office, he has consistently demonstrated the firm’s commitment to high standards of design quality and ethical practice. Berg has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from California State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, Calif. He is active in the American Institute of Architects and the International Codes Council.
Isaac Zamora — As Chief Financial Officer, Zamora has played a key role in the growth and current operational structure of the firm since joining Steinberg Architects in 1998. With 15 years of experience in the architecture industry, his keen financial, human resources and operational skills have been an integral part of the firm’s leadership. Zamora has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from San Jose State University.
Bob Lavey, AIA, LEED AP – With a 20-year career, Lavey joined Steinberg Architects in 2012 from Perkins + Will where he was a Principal and led the education practice in Los Angeles. At Steinberg Architects, Lavey helps lead the ongoing growth of the firms’ educational practice. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, Calif. Lavey has been LEED AP since 2004 and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. Lavey is active in the Society for College and University Planning, Community College Faculty Coalition and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
Jason Briscoe, AIA – An 18-year architecture veteran, Briscoe has been with Steinberg Architects since 2006. After serving four years as a Senior Project Manager in the firm’s Los Angeles office, Briscoe relocated to Shanghai in 2010. As General Manager, he has made significant contributions to business development, design and project management in the firm’s expanding Shanghai office. Briscoe holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Kansas and is active in the American Institute of Architects.
Steinberg Architects made seven other promotions: in the Los Angeles office, Joe Sion was promoted to Associate Principal; and,Carolyn Spiess and Sonnet Hui were each promoted to Associate. Meanwhile, in the San Jose office, Jonathan Chao was promoted to Senior Associate; and, Danielle Hornberger, Linh Tang and Albert Wege were promoted to Associate.
