ALLIANCE ANNOUNCES SUZI MORRIS AS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR FOR COMPANY’S RAPIDLY GROWING PACIFIC NORTHWEST REGION
SEATTLE (July 16, 2012) — With construction of Broadstone Koi progressing rapidly and a high-profile Capitol Hill project taking shape, Alliance Residential is strategically expanding resources in its Seattle-based Pacific Northwest office, to include the appointment of Suzi Morris as Development Director for the Pacific Northwest.
Morris brings more than 14 years of experience in the real estate industry, most recently serving as a senior investment manager for Schnitzer West in Seattle. Throughout her career, she has developed more than 1,200 residential units throughout the Seattle area, including Equinox and Bravern Apartments, Brix and Gallery Condominiums and Hearthstone Apartments. While at Schnitzer, Morris was also involved in the development and leasing of approximately 700,000 square feet of office space throughout Seattle and Portland.
She is responsible for all day-to-day aspects of Alliance’s development, including predevelopment, construction management and asset stabilization throughout the Pacific Northwest region which includes Northern California, Washington and Oregon. She provides global strategy and execution on projects from acquisition to disposition.
Morris is a member of Commercial Real Estate Women and holds a master’s degree in finance from Seattle University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Her experience and expertise with entitlement processes, positioning and success strategies throughout the Pacific Northwest region is an extremely valuable asset to the company.
Alliance has a number of developments underway throughout the Pacific Northwest. Currently, the company is framing the fourth level of Broadstone Koi, a 166-unit LEED-certified residential project located in the eclectic Ballard neighborhood, just 15 minutes from downtown and a short drive to many of the area’s major employers, including Google, F5 networks, Amazon and the Gates Foundation. The community will begin pre-leasing this summer with its north tower scheduled for completion in January 2013.
Residents of Broadstone Koi will benefit from the location and amenity package designed for this premier Alliance community, including: LEED silver status, efficient unit sizes with contemporary, open floor plans; plentiful common areas for entertaining (think rooftop decks and luxurious common courtyards); and high-end, urban interior finishes, such as upgraded slab-granite countertops, undermount sinks and wood-plank floors.
Another high-profile Seattle project is Alliance’s 250-unit Broadstone Capitol Hill located at 10th Avenue and East Union Street. Centrally located in the Pike Pine Corridor of Capitol Hill and a short walk from Seattle University, downtown Seattle and a variety of great shops, restaurants and bars, Broadstone Capitol Hill will provide the ideal pedestrian experience.
Broadstone Capitol Hill will incorporate two facades from existing buildings built more than 75 years ago, providing a connection to the historic neighborhood while appealing to residents seeking modern amenities. As an added incentive that takes advantage of the bustling Seattle retail and pedestrian environment, Broadstone Capitol Hill will feature a bicycle commuting room with wash area, storage racks and repair station.
As the region’s housing market continues to rebound, Alliance is expanding its footprint in Portland and Northern California as well, including its recent property management agreement at 360 Residences, a luxe 23-story, mixed-use multifamily tower located in the heart of downtown San Jose.
