Open House Celebrates New Corporate Offices with Forum Raising Awareness and Support for Stanford Cancer Institute
MENLO PARK, Calif. (October 13, 2016) – Tarlton Properties, Inc. (Tarlton), a commercial property development and asset manager, announced today the opening of their renovated offices at 1530 O’Brien Drive in Menlo Park. The open house will be punctuated by a brief education forum with preeminent cancer researchers from the Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI) and members of the Menlo Park Labs biotechnology community. As a pioneering company in the Menlo business community, Tarlton is committed to raising awareness of the challenges, progress and successes in developing new cancer treatments and therapies and particularly through the ongoing research at SCI, which includes their exciting participation in the Cancer Moonshot initiative.
Originally founded by Tig Tarlton, Tarlton has developed more than 4.5 million square feet of prime Bay Area real estate. Since its inception, charitable giving has been a core value for Tarlton. The company has a long tradition of social corporate responsibility with a specific focus on raising capital and awareness and empowering companies that improve patient outcomes while decreasing the costs associated with healthcare.
“The opening of our new corporate offices marks a new stage in our growth and we look forward to continuing our commitment as a center of innovation in the biotech and life science sectors,” said John Tarlton, CEO of Tarlton. “We began our philanthropic focus on the Stanford Cancer Institute after my mother and sister were both diagnosed with cancer and received excellent care there. My vision of creating a vibrant biotech community has come to life at Menlo Park Labs, where we are proud to continue to enrich the local community by fostering an environment of collaboration and growth among our tenants and neighbors.”
“We are most grateful for John Tarlton’s continued support of cancer research at Stanford,” said Beverly S. Mitchell, MD, Director of the Stanford Cancer Institute. “We applaud Tarlton Properties’ growth, it’s commitment to advancing local biomedical companies, and John’s extraordinary personal example of health and fitness. All of us at SCI look forward to future opportunities to work together to lesson the burden of cancer in our Stanford community and beyond.”
With a strategic Mid-Peninsula location close to Stanford University, Facebook, and Google, Tarlton has easy access to all major freeways and is just minutes from three international airports, Silicon Valley, San Francisco and the East Bay.
