Tesla Leases 230,000 SQFT of Office Space in Fremont

Two properties in Fremont owned by the Peery Arrillaga organization have been leased to Tesla for expansion of its workforce in the Silicon Valley city. The office properties located at 6800 and 6900 Dumbarton Circle total just under 230,000 square feet. There is a third building at 6700 Dumbarton Circle that is also part of the property, but this building was not part the deal, according to a report from the San Jose Mercury News.

Tesla’s headquarters are located across the Bay in Palo Alto at 3500 Deer Creek Road, but much of the activity has been on the east side of the bay, where the company has steadily grown its footprint in Fremont at 45500 Fremont Boulevard and the surrounding area.

According to Peery Arrillaga’s web site, the two properties are “a great location and easily accessible from either the Peninsula or the East Bay due to its proximity to the Dumbarton Bridge.” Both buildings were offered in shell conditions, and work on the property has already started to accommodate the new tenant.

As the electric automaker expands its product offerings and consolidates its operations as an energy conglomerate, it is likely that the organization will continue to grow and take space across the region. Most recently, Tesla has filed an application in Redwood City to build a sales and service center at 515 Veterans Blvd. The company is planning to redevelop the nearly 23,000 square foot property located on the corner of the Veterans Blvd. and Whipple Ave. to house a sales office, a warehouse, and a service center/repair garage.

Just about a year earlier, the company also expanded into Livermore, where Tesla took approximately one million square feet of industrial space at the Oaks Logistics Center, a development project in Livermore located at 201 Discovery Drive in Livermore. This project is a joint venture between Bentall Kennedy and Trammell Crow Company.
