CUPERTINO, CA, July 1, 2013—The Sobrato Organization (TSO) announces the appointment of Rob Hollister, a 17-year veteran at Hines, as its President of Real Estate—TSO’s primary operating business with 75 commercial properties in Silicon Valley totaling 7.5M square feet, and 6,700 apartment units along the West Coast.[contextly_sidebar id=”830ffc25be5041e3f208d6f7a682ed76″]“We are very pleased that Rob has agreed to join our team. Rob’s experience and long career at Hines in which he oversaw large-scale developments in a variety of submarkets, combined with The Sobrato Organization’s strong financial position and platform gained through over 40 years of Silicon Valley development activities, should take us to even greater levels of success. Also important, Rob shares our family’s values and our passion for creating best-in-class office and multifamily projects in Silicon Valley, a region whose growth and prosperity will continue to drive our global economy for decades to come,” said John A. Sobrato, TSO’s Founder & Chairman.
As President of Real Estate, Mr. Hollister will assume day-to-day responsibility for all of the company’s real estate operations, including both commercial and multifamily development. He will also oversee the real estate team in the sourcing, evaluation, and underwriting of deals, as well as all project financing and lender relationships.
“While my father and I will remain active in both setting real estate strategy and in the investment level decision making, the addition of such a respected executive leader as Rob will allow us to focus greater time and energy on the direction of TSO as a whole, including Sobrato Capital which manages our non-real estate investments, and our expanding philanthropic activities,” remarked John M. Sobrato, TSO’s Chief Executive Officer. John M. and John A. Sobrato will transition the day-to-day real estate operations to Mr. Hollister this summer. Korn Ferry International assisted The Sobrato Organization with the search.
