SANTA CLARA, Nov. 5, 2014 — The Irvine Company announced today that natural and organic grocer Whole Foods Market will open its first Santa Clara store in 2016.

Whole Foods will anchor Santa Clara Square Marketplace, a 125,000-square-foot specialty shopping center being built at Great America/Bowers and the 101 freeway.

The shopping center is part of Santa Clara Square, an Irvine Company retail and office development that will be the Silicon Valley headquarters of global networking company Ericsson in late 2015.
