BCCI Construction Company Expands Its Team

San Francisco (November 19, 2012) – BCCI Construction Company (BCCI), the Bay Area’s premier commercial contractor, is pleased to announce the growth of its team. Just months after renewing the lease of its Palo Alto office as part of its commitment to the region and in anticipation of continued market growth—BCCI continues to expand its San Francisco and Palo Alto offices.

Recognized as the Bay Area’s most forward-looking construction company, BCCI has selected highly experienced individuals with distinct areas of expertise to complement each of the company’s key divisions. Areas of expansion include sustainability and project management, where the additions of Aron Bosworth, LEED AP, and Lisa Szmurlo, LEED AP, respectively, reflect the company’s focused commitment to these important client services. Meanwhile, the addition of Project Engineers Laith Assaf, Peter DiBono, and Tina Hui, Assistant Project Manager Greg A. Jackson, and Senior Project Manager Damon S. Grose reflect BCCI’s continued market growth.

“This talented group will elevate the experienced, skilled team we already have at BCCI,” said Michael Scribner, President of BCCI Construction. “We are pleased that we are continuing to grow our firm with team members who share our commitment to quality and professionalism.”

Aron Bosworth is a LEED Accredited Professional who joins Director of Sustainability Alex Spilger, LEED AP, in key sustainability leadership and team expertise for BCCI’s green building projects. Bosworth comes to BCCI with over five years of sustainability advising and LEED certification management experience, during which he managed more than twenty-five LEED projects spanning the LEED for Commercial Interiors, New Construction and Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance rating systems. In addition to project management, he also has experience providing educational training on the successful implementation of LEED. He has taught workshops to San Diego Gas & Electric, architecture firm Portico Group in Seattle, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) – Northern California Chapter in the Bay Area, and USGBC – LA, The Gas Company, and AIA – Pasadena Foothills Chapter in the Los Angeles area.

Also a LEED Accredited Professional, Lisa Szmurlo brings seventeen years of experience as a project architect. Prior to joining BCCI, Szmurlo served as a project architect at Gensler, where she collaborated with BCCI on a number of tenant improvements in the Bay Area including Gensler headquarters, Bingham & McCutchen, The Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation and the Rogers Family Foundation. Her experience on the design side, and now on the construction side, allows her to bring a truly unique perspective to each project. Szmurlo’s particular expertise will help BCCI further streamline the preconstruction and construction process and deliver the consistently innovative solutions to the company’s clients.

A project manager from Morgan Hill, California, Damon S. Grose comes to BCCI from South Bay Construction in Los Gatos, California, with over 32 years of commercial and residential construction experience. Well versed in all types of construction disciplines, he provides expertise in all types of shell construction, seismic upgrades, data centers, retail and interior improvements.

An OSHA certified civil engineer from Sunnyvale, California, Greg A. Jackson comes to BCCI from Shimmick Construction, where he served as Project Engineer. Early in his career, Jackson worked as an intern at the BCCI Palo Alto office, where he gained experience working with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and inspectors for the Blackwelder & Quillen Apartment Renovation Project and School of Education Project at Stanford University.

The combined experience of the new employees with the existing knowledge and experience of BCCI allows the company to continue to develop relationships with prominent corporations like Google, SAP, Adobe Systems, and Kaiser Permanente. Every day, BCCI lives its commitment to creating an exceptional place to work, which, in turn, inspires its team members to share the company’s goals of perfecting every step of the construction process.
