Cresa Provides Project Management for in 26K SF Relocation and Expansion of Corporate Headquarters in Mountain View

SAN JOSE — Michael Charney of Cresa San Jose recently provided Project Management services for Intermedia, a global cloud platform leader for small and medium-sized businesses and the world’s largest exchange hosting company, in the build-out of its new 25,500 SF Silicon Valley corporate headquarters located at 815 E. Middlefield Road in Mountain View. John Brady and Joe Brady of Cresa San Jose provided transaction management services as part of the company’s relocation and expansion.

The company, which provides cloud services to small and mid-sized businesses, was previously located at 150 Mathilda Place in Sunnyvale. The five-month tenant improvement project included Cresa’s full, integrated service delivery of relocation planning and management, team and vendor selection, and oversight of the construction and design.

According to Mr. Charney, the company chose the standalone building to accommodate future growth, and wanted the space to reflect its progressive, entrepreneurial, and collaborative culture. For example, 120-degree workstations were selected for the new location, a departure from straight workbenches at the Sunnyvale location, to encourage connection and collaboration among engineers.

“By strategically upgrading finishes, exposing the ceiling at feature areas, and the smart, selective use of vibrant accent colors, we created a dynamic, attractive, and cost-effective workplace,” says Mr. Charney
Other features include the use of roof light tubes to maximize natural light in the workplace and the installation of a natural gas back-up generator to support mission-critical network equipment.

Whitney-Polcyn Architects provided architectural services for the project, while South Bay Construction served as the General Contractor.

Steve Horton, Colin Feichtmeir, Kelly Yoder of Cassidy Turley Commercial Real Estate Services represented the landlord, Boston Properties Inc., in the transaction.
