SAN JOSE, CA (April 2 4 , 2018) – After completing an intensive multimillion-dollar transformation, the 1.4-million square foot Eastridge Center celebrated its Grand Re-opening with a three-day event and ribbon cutting ceremony. Held April 6-8, state and city leaders were on hand for the event, as were Eastridge Center management and staff, and representatives from Pacific Retail Capital Partners, the Southern California-based company that owns and manages the center. Crowds were treated to art workshops, chef demonstrations, food trucks, dance performances and live music, as well as a family expo.
Madison Nguyen, executive vice president of the The Silicon Valley Organization; Najla Kayyem, senior vice president of marketing at Pacific Retail Capital Partners; and Ash Kalra, California State Assembly member, spoke at the official toast and ribbon-cutting ceremony. On his Instagram (@ash_kalra), Ash Kalra posted, “Congratulations to Eastridge Center on Grand Re-opening this afternoon! The place looks amazing and has more murals covering the surface of the mall than any other shopping center in the world!”
Silicon Valley’s second largest retail destination, Eastridge Center, has been completely transformed with a new, modern look and feel. The multimillion-dollar renovation included immense murals by local artists, updated courtyards with turf and greenery, a refurbished food court renamed The Eatery, a new kids’ play area, new family lounges, center-wide free Wi-Fi, vehicle charging stations, and more. The Grand Re-Opening weekend also marked the roll out of all new programming at Eastridge, including Eastridge Art Wednesdays, which hosts free performances every Wednesday night; Open Space, a twice-monthly open-mic night; and free, community-wellness programs weekly, like donation-based yoga and family-friendly activities.
