NEW YORK – Nationally recognized architecture and interior design firm Huntsman Architectural Group announces the addition of Elvira Gershengorn as senior designer in its New York office.  A LEED Accredited Professional, Elvira brings 15 years of experience of corporate office design for high profile clients in the entertainment, media, technology, and finance markets.  In her new role at Huntsman, she will provide design direction and project management for the firm including ongoing work for Signature Bank and new offices for management consulting firm ReD Associates in New York City.

Elvira’s aesthetic sensibility comes from her desire and innate ability to clearly understand her clients and their unique needs.  “Every client has a story to tell,” she shares.  “I see the designer’s role as translating this story into a physical expression.  It’s important for the designer to think from multiple points of view, give options, and demonstrate flexibility.”  This philosophy has helped Elvira build a client list that reads like a ‘who’s who’ in the entertainment and media industries.  She has planned and designed the corporate headquarters of Combs Enterprises, Martha Stewart Living, Every Day with Rachael Ray, and Vice Media. Her designs also address pragmatic needs, like in the new Creative Studio for IBM where nearly every surface is writable or usable and no space is static.  Her familiarity with sustainable design practices gives Elvira the ability to help clients consistently integrate environmentally responsible strategies into their projects.

Elvira received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.  Prior to Huntsman, she served as a senior project designer at The Switzer Group and as design director at HLW International in New York.
