Hopkins & Carley Expands Real Estate Practice with Addition of Margaret Nanda

Veteran Real Estate Attorney Brings Unique Practice in Complex Mobile Home Park Closures

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 8, 2016 – Hopkins & Carley, a law firm serving Silicon Valley businesses and individuals, is pleased to announce that Margaret Nanda joined the firm’s San Jose office as Of Counsel in the Real Estate Practice Group.


With more than 35 years of experience in real estate law and a particularly deep knowledge in the highly-specialized area of mobile home park closures, Nanda represents many developers and families with sizeable real estate holdings throughout Silicon Valley. Nanda currently is lead counsel in four mobile home park closure/conversion proceedings, including representing the owners of the sole remaining mobile home park in Palo Alto in highly-publicized litigation relating to the planned closure.

Nanda earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Southwestern University School of Law and her B.S. from Occidental College.

Also joining Hopkins & Carley as an associate is Sonya Welch, who previously practiced with Nanda. Welch earned her J.D. from University of Southern California Law School and her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
