San Jose, CA, – Northern California general contractor Iron Construction announced today it will move the company’s headquarters from north San Jose to Sunnyvale. Major renovation and tenant improvements have begun on an existing building which is part of the 1.62 acre parcel in the city of Sunnyvale the company has purchased.
Iron Construction will begin making the move in early November. “Our growth demands bigger, better and bolder facilities,” says Iron Construction president & CEO Dave Edgar. “Our projects range up and down the peninsula, but as far as ease of working with municipalities and building departments, Sunnyvale is definitely a great city.” The new headquarters will be located at 270 East Caribbean Drive in Sunnyvale. The company is currently doing work on an existing 23,000 square foot structure, including the addition of a second floor, exterior façade, alterations and site work improvement.
“Iron Construction is yet another terrific example of the diverse businesses attracted to Sunnyvale,” says the city’s top public official, Mayor Anthony (Tony) Spitaleri. “We’re delighted they have located here and are making a long-term investment with a sustainable facility for their employees.” Iron Construction takes pride in being green efficient as well as enhancing environmental awareness and its new location will be LEED certified. The building will be 27,179 square feet when renovations are complete. “We’ll have a full kitchen, state of the art fitness center and very engaging architecture,” says Mr. Edgar. “The space is really going to be like a second home for our team, clients and partners,”
