San Francisco—EHDD, the award-winning architecture, interiors, planning and urban design firm, welcomes James Pollet, IIDA LEED AP as Director of Interior Design. Pollet has been tasked with refining the process and approach for the delivery of interior design in the context of a serious and innovative design firm that has a rich and deep legacy of challenging established practice norms.
Pollet is both endlessly receptive to the possibilities of new ideas and enamored by the rigor that the corporate environment brings to a design project. This balance of unfettered creativity and innate respect for formal pro- cess has distinguished Pollet as an emerging interior design star for a broad spectrum of corporate clients.
Duncan Ballash, EHDD President, comments, “James is a welcome addition to EHDD. His ability to understand culture and affect change has been instrumental to our office and to our clients thus far. We see endless possibili- ties with James at the helm of interior design practice.”
Pollet began his professional career at RAPT STUDIO (formerly Pollack Archi- tecture) in the late 1990s, as a junior designer. Less than a decade later—in 2006—he was named a principal for the award-winning design practice and president in 2008. From 2007 to 2009 he taught professional practice for interior design at California College of the Arts (CCA). Pollet holds a degree from the Master of Architecture program at Tulane University in New Or- leans, LA, where he was named a Dean’s Honor Scholar.
Recognition for Pollet includes his being named one of the International Interior Design Association’s (IIDA) “Ten To Watch,” as well as being cited by the San Francisco Chronicle as one of the “Thirty Under Thirty” in the Inte- rior Design field. Most recently, he was the IIDA Northern California Presi- dent, where he challenged the organization to develop a standard scope for Interior Design.
Notable clients include: Stanford University, Greylock Partners, Autodesk, Salesforce, General Electric (GE), Google, Kixeye and Eventbrite
