Jamestown Signs Weight Watchers & Bay 6 at Alameda South Shore Center

Alameda, Calif. (December 17, 2012)– Jamestown, owner of Alameda South Shore Center, is pleased to announce that two new tenants, Weight Watchers and the women’s apparel shop Bay 6, have signed leases at the open-air, regional shopping center.

Weight Watchers leased 1,225 square feet and opened in early November in Suite 250, between Massage Envy and European Wax Center. The South Shore Center store is a new location for the global weight management program. In 40 years, Weight Watchers has grown to operate centers in 30 countries worldwide. Weight Watchers offers its members nutritional plans and pre-packaged meals based on the latest glycemic-diet science, as well as counseling and support services for dieters. “This is one of the most established and reputable weight loss programs in the nation, and we are pleased to welcome Weight Watchers to South Shore Center,” said Julie Taylor, senior vice president at Cornish & Carey Commercial Newmark Knight Frank, the center’s leasing agent.

Bay 6 recently opened just in time for the holiday season on Black Friday. The store will occupy 4,655 square feet in Suite 360. The apparel brand, with styles inspired by surf, skate, music, and design, was founded in 2004 in Honolulu, Hawaii. “In Alameda South Shore Center, Bay 6 saw a great opportunity in just the right market at the right time,” said Taylor.

Taylor and Stephen Rusher represented Jamestown in the Weight Watchers transaction and Annie Jabuka of Terranomics Retail Services represented the tenant. Deb Kravitz of PRI represented both Bay 6 and Jamestown in the lease negotiations.
