-1JULY 2014 – The real estate industry’s premier cycling event, City of Hope’s 3rd Annual Bike to Hope set for Friday, October 17 and presented by SB Architects, is already on track to sell out even as the event has doubled in size each year. Prospective riders are encouraged to sign up for remaining slots of the 150-limit event that will start and end at Lagunitas Brewery in Petaluma.  All registration and fundraising dollars benefit City of Hope, a leading cancer research and treatment center.

“We are thrilled to continue our support of City of Hope’s Northern California Real Estate & Construction Council by sponsoring this year’s Bike to Hope,” says Bruce Wright, Vice President and Principal of SB Architects. “Our mantra at SB Architects is ‘work hard, play hard,’ and giving back is a key part of our culture, so it’s a great fit and a great cause.”

This year’s Bike to Hope will feature two course options, a metric century and a half-metric century, to cater to the industry’s seasoned as well as casual riders alike. Both routes will take the cyclists through the back roads of Sonoma County, culminating with celebratory brews and barbecue at Lagunitas Brewing Company.

“With only about half of the 150 spots still available, I encourage those interested in participating to sign up immediately,” says ride chairman Joe Olla of Nibbi Brothers.  “It’s great networking, too, in a sport that’s called ‘the new golf’.  The camaraderie of friends and new acquaintances made on last year’s ride involving over 40 companies was a top benefit cited by riders.”

New this year is an automatically-generated personalized fundraising website, enabling riders to raise additional funds from their peers to benefit City of Hope’s cancer and diabetes programs.  “Our Northern California Real Estate Council is dedicated to finding a cure for cancer and other life threatening diseases.  The personalized web sites enable us to generate even more donations to City of Hope and that is exactly what Bike to Hope is about,” says Olla.

Sponsorships are available and include branding and marketing opportunities for interested companies.
