SUNNYVALE, CA, May 9, 2014 –On April 21, Northern California general contractor Iron Construction, Inc. hosted a grand opening of its new office at 270 E. Caribbean Drive in Sunnyvale, CA. Joined by Sunnyvale Mayor Jim Griffith, the ceremonial red ribbon was cut by President and CEO, Dave Edgar.
“Our growth demanded bigger, better and bolder facilities,” says Edgar. “Our projects range up and down the peninsula, but as far as ease of working with municipalities and building departments, Sunnyvale is definitely a great city.”
The two-story 27,000 square foot, built to LEED Gold standards facility features a wide open floor plan with high volume ceilings, conference and training rooms, a kitchen, showers, lockers, as well as a community garden with a patio and fire pit. Designed as a green, sustainable office building, energy-efficient LED lighting reduces energy consumption of the facility by 33%, while low flow plumbing fixtures use 35% less water than standard fixtures.
“I love the thought process and commitment that Iron Construction brought to their new home in Sunnyvale. I hope this becomes a showpiece for start-ups, and I hope that Iron Construction can leverage this into opportunities to help other companies do similar retrofits,” said Mayor Griffith
