San Francisco’s One Market Plaza Adds Variety of Retailers, as Retail Component Undergoes Repositioning

One Market Plaza, one of the most prominent complexes on the San Francisco skyline, has added a variety of five new retail tenants, as Flywheel Stadium Cycling, Bibim Bar, Coast Poke, Batter Bakery and Pressed Juicery have recently executed leases in the project located at One Market Street. Flywheel, a fitness group offering cycling classes and other body sculpting elements, will be the largest new tenant of the bunch in 4,742 square feet of space. The location will represent one of just a handful of locations the group operates in the Bay Area. Other new to market tenants Bibim Bar and Coast Poke will join Osha Thai, Café Elena and Ladle & Leaf, in the project’s recently remodeled dining atrium.  Batter Bakery already opened for business in May in the boutique boxcars while Pressed Juicery plans a future opening. These retailers will all be located on the ground floor and spread across the three buildings—two towers and a landmark building—that make up the complex spanning an entire city block. The team of Kazuko Morgan, Kelly Vinson, Courtney Griffin and Jennifer Pelino with Cushman & Wakefield’s Retail Services group represented the ownership, composed of Paramount Group, Inc., Blackstone and Equity Office Properties, in these transactions. The Cushman & Wakefield team also represented Pressed Juicery in its transaction, while Ms. Morgan. Ms. Vinson and Ms. Pelino also represented Flywheel.

Ms. Morgan, a Vice Chairman with Cushman & Wakefield’s San Francisco office, said, “One Market Plaza is a tremendous opportunity for retailers to position themselves amidst the heart of San Francisco’s downtown workforce and one of its popular tourist destinations.” She added, “Last year, ownership completed $25 million in modern lobby and atrium renovations and upgrades throughout the complex, helping create a more vibrant, walkable atmosphere. Further, the repositioning of the property includes many new and reconfigured storefronts and shops, which these five new retailers will now be part of this exciting transformation.”

One Market Plaza is comprised of three office buildings that includes 42,000 square feet of on-site retail amenity space. The retail component consists of specialty shops, services and a remodeled dining atrium serving a vast array of local food to table cuisine in addition to full-service restaurants including One Market, Rosa Mexicano, Super Duper, Mixt Greens, plus a new and expanded Starbucks and newly opened grab and go eatery, Proper Food. One Market Plaza has entrances on Market Street, Mission Street, and Spear Street in the Financial District. The property is surrounded by world-class hotels, shopping, dining and attracts both tourists and local business professionals daily. It is also just steps away from BART, Muni and Ferry Building Terminals.
