SAN FRANCISCO (March 1, 2017) – Norcina, a new Italian café and delicatessen, will be opening this spring in Waterfront Plaza on San Francisco’s Northern Waterfront. Founded by Kaitlynn Bauman of Parlor 1255, a quick-service restaurant in Levi’s Plaza, the café will bring a new meal option to workers in an area with numerous office buildings but few restaurants. Norcina is expected to open this May.
Spanning just over 1,200 square feet with outdoor seating, Norcina will be located on the ground floor of 50 Francisco Street within the Waterfront Plaza campus. Breakfast will feature coffee by local Sausalito roaster, Cibo, along with food offerings including frittata with broccoli rabe and potato, pancetta and cheese cornetti, and bombolini, an Italian doughnut filled with pastry cream. Lunch options will include tigelle, ancient Italian flatbread, sliced as sandwiches and filled with toppings such as prosciutto cotto, stracchino cheese, and artichoke hearts. The menu will also offer salads such as Tuscan kale with cannellini beans, artichoke hearts, fennel, and pecorino. For a sweet treat, Norcina will serve housemade gelato. Operating hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“I’m thrilled to bring Norcina to Waterfront Plaza and offer another quality food and beverage option to busy professionals, travelers, and local residents,” said Founder Kaitlynn Bauman. “San Francisco’s Northern Waterfront is one of the best places to both live and work, and we hope to become a sought-after neighborhood destination.”
