Wendel Rosen Partner C. Gregg Ankenman Re-Elected to National Retail Tenants Association Board of Governors

Oakland, Calif., – Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP Partner C. Gregg Ankenman has been re-elected to the National Retail Tenants Association (NRTA) Board of Governors. Ankenman currently serves as general counsel to the organization and will complete his second term on the Board in 2016. He was honored with the NRTA’s Founders Service Award in 2005.

AnkenmanThe NRTA is a leading source of lease administration education for commercial office and retail real estate lease professionals, attorneys, lease accounting and other commercial property management specialists who are responsible for retail real estate lease administration and operating costs. The organization’s goal is to assist members in improving the bottom line results of their respective companies through real estate best practices and peer networking.

Ankenman has extensive experience in real estate and business transactional work, including commercial real estate leases, sales, exchanges and financing. He has handled hundreds of commercial lease transactions for retail, office, industrial, agricultural and telecommunications sites. He also advises developers, landlords and property owners with matters such as sales, acquisitions, development, property management and financing.

In addition to his real estate practice, Ankenman is a frequent writer and speaker on legal issues facing the industry. He has authored chapters on retail leasing, office leasing, real estate finance practices and real property sales transactions volumes for California Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB). He also served as chief consultant on CEB’s Retail Leasing: Drafting and Negotiating the Lease. Ankenman earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law (1998) and his B.A. in Economics from Brigham Young University (1984).
