SAN FRANCISCO (Feb. 27, 2023) McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., the oldest privately held national construction company in the country, announced Melanie Dodson has been named Senior Preconstruction Director of Specialized Solutions & Interiors (SSI) for its Northern Pacific Region. With 27 years of construction experience, Dodson will provide McCarthy’s clients with unique solutions for buildouts, tenant improvements, and expansion projects of all sizes.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from California Polytechnic State University, Dodson continued to pursue her passion for construction through jobs with several notable companies before landing at McCarthy. Throughout her career, Dodson has played a large role in the planning and management of several high-profile projects.
“I was drawn to join the Specialized Solutions & Interiors group at McCarthy as I have extensive experience on projects ranging from high-end multi floor tenant improvements to cGMP labs and data centers,” said Melanie Dodson, Senior Preconstruction Director of Specialized Solutions & Interiors at McCarthy Building Companies Inc. “I thoroughly enjoy working on highly technical projects – often within occupied spaces with challenging logistics. In this new role, I’m eager to bring my passion for these critical construction skills and the preconstruction process I’ve cultivated to advance the longstanding goals of McCarthy’s SSI team and progress the work we’re doing for clients across the region and within the industry.”
As a crucial member of McCarthy’s local leadership team, Dodson will collaborate with high-performing teams to support operational excellence, growth and development, and strategy. She will also be focused on projects within the Science & Technology, Commercial Tenant Improvement, and Institutional and Adaptive Re-use markets.
