A major life science firm is moving its headquarters from Menlo Park to Fremont’s Ardenwood District, effectively tripling its space from 31,200 square feet to 100,000 square feet, according to a report from The Mercury News. Personalis, Inc. leased an office building at 6600 Dumbarton Circle, which company representatives said would support future growth plans and provide greater capacity for laboratory operations and in research and development activities.
The move was announced last year, according to information released by Personalis, and the firm signed a 13-year lease for the Dumbarton Circle facility. The new facility is intended to allow for expansion of the company’s CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited laboratory for clinical testing to support biopharma customers and clinical diagnostic testing as well as support the expansion of R&D efforts to bring “leading edge products and services to the marketplace,” according to the announcement.
“Our new headquarters is expected to enable Personalis to continue our growth as we look to further expand our product offerings and strengthen our position in the cancer diagnostics market,” said John West, Personalis CEO, in a released statement. “As we’ve experienced so far, the San Francisco Bay Area has a deep pool of talent and we plan to continue to recruit top scientific, clinical and commercial professionals with the skill sets necessary to achieve our business goals and support our many initiatives.”
Personalis is a leader in advanced cancer genomics for enabling the next generation of precision cancer therapies and diagnostics, according to information from the company. In population sequencing, Personalis operates one of the largest sequencing laboratories globally.
Almost a decade ago, Personalis signed its 66-month lease for more than 31,000 square feet at Menlo Business Park, according to The Registry’s previous reporting. Personalis occupied the entire building at 1330 O’Brien Drive and the second floor at 1360 O’Brien Drive.
