Leads Plumbing Design Team
Los Angeles, CA — Dave Ralston, CPD, an expert in the design of plumbing and fire protection systems, has joined Syska Hennessy Group as a senior associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
In his new role, Mr. Ralston will lead the plumbing design team locally, working closely with Syska’s plumbing experts nationwide. Previously, he served as a senior plumbing designer in the San Francisco office of Interface Engineering,
“Dave’s leadership in this field is inspiring and is originally what caught our attention,” says John Passanante, PE, RCDD, leader of Syska’s Western region. “As we got to know him, it became abundantly clear that he shared our whole-system/whole-building approach to engineering and would fit easily into our team.”
The last few weeks have confirmed these expectations. Mr. Ralston is already involved in mentoring Syska’s young professionals and collaborating with other engineers on projects. “Everyone appreciates his knowledge and expertise,” notes Passanante.
A native Californian, Mr. Ralston resides in Manhattan Beach. He holds a B.S. in fire protection and safety engineering technology from Eastern Kentucky University.
Mr. Ralston is active in the American Society of Plumbing Engineers and continues to push the industry to develop better, more efficient fixtures and systems. “We’re in the 21st century of building design. Concepts of plumbing are the same, but the goals are different,” he explains. “Efficiency and water conservation drives design. Our job is to meet those goals while applying the building code that was written decades before sustainability initiatives. That’s where it gets fun.”About Syska Hennessy Group
