The Village at San Antonio Center Signs 5 New Retailers

Mountain View, CA (Dec. 5, 2012) — The Village at San Antonio Center, a signature gateway to Mountain View offering an exciting new place to live, work and shop, announced today the signing of five new retailers debuting shortly after the anchor-tenant Safeway store opens this Spring as part of the 134,000 square-feet under construction. The new tenants include:

  • The Counter Custom-Built Burgers’ 2,800 square-foot space along with 815 square feet in outdoor seating space will be its first in Mountain View, following other locations in the Bay Area and nationally featuring “customized” burgers.
  • TavernaBlu, a Greek-casual restaurant, is taking 2,404 square feet along with 761 square feet of outdoor seating space for its first Northern California cafe, expanding from popular locations in San Diego and Orange County.
  • Fidelity Investments is taking 5,004 square feet for a retail investment services presence.
  • Starbucks Coffee will open a 2,192 square-foot store.
  • BlueWhite Cleaners, a specialty dry cleaner in approximately 1,046 square feet, will be an amenity for people who will live in The Village’s apartments, as well as other Mountain View residents.

The Village at San Antonio Center, located on 16 acres bounded by El Camino Real, San Antonio Rd, Showers & California, had previously announced that Safeway will open a flagship store this Spring, relocating from an existing Safeway a block away.

“Now that the construction is really taking shape, retailers are able to see the unique design characteristics and walkable scale of The Village,” said Liz Munger, Merlone Geier’s property manager for The Village. “It’s exciting to see the market’s enthusiasm for this new community. The design team did a great job creating a distinctive sense-of-place whether you’re shopping or just enjoying the park space and the plazas. Our goal is to build a vibrant retail mix to complement Mountain View with a variety of restaurants as well as familiar and popular stores.”
