Valerio Dewalt Train Promotes Four Staff Members To Associates

Chicago, Palo Alto, San Francisco —Valerio Dewalt Train Associates has promoted four of its staff members to the position of associate. They are Matthew Gamache, Lauren Shelton, and Romina Tonucci in the Chicago office and Elizabeth Utley in the Palo Alto office.

Matthew Gamache, AIA, LEEP AP, joined the firm in 2007. Most recently, Matt led design efforts for the Tech Corners Campus in Sunnyvale, California. His projects with the firm include an award-winning design for Juniper Networks’ New Jersey Innovation Center and corporate office spaces for Adobe Systems in San Jose and San Francisco. Matt was a member of the design team for the Gordon Parks Arts Hall at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and the Rita Atkinson Residences for the University of California, San Diego. He received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture and his Master of Architecture from the University of Minnesota.

Lauren Shelton, AIA, LEEP AP, has been with Valerio Dewalt Train Associates since 2007. She is currently managing the South Housing Campus development for California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, California. Her experience includes the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Leroy Neiman Center and the Shedd Aquarium addition and renovation in Chicago. Lauren leads Valerio Dewalt Train Associate’s commitment to the AIA 2030 Challenge, was a mentee in Chicago AIA’s Bridge program in 2012, and serves as an active mentor in the AIA Michigan Mentoring Network. She received her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Ohio State University and her Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan.

Romina Tonucci, AIA, joined Valerio Dewalt Train Associates in 2007. She is currently working on a student housing development in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and recently managed design and construction of a student housing development in Knoxville, Tennessee. She has worked on the new SanDisk Corporate Headquarters in Milpitas, California, and the renovation of Behance’s office in New York City. Romina received her Masters of Architecture from the University of Detroit – Mercy.

Elizabeth Utley, AIA, IIDA, LEED AP, joined Valerio Dewalt Train Associates in 2012. Elizabeth is currently a team leader for the South Housing Campus development for California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, California.She recently completed work on the Tech Corners Campus in Sunnyvale, California; interior renovations for VMware’s regional offices in Bellevue, Washington; and new office space for Adobe Systems in San Jose. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California and her Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the Edinburgh College of Art.
