He will be responsible for the growth, management and development of the full-service property management and facilities management platforms for the Northern California region. Bilstad brings more than 30 years of experience providing leadership and high-performance solutions to private capital, institutional and public-sector clients.

“Adding Roger, with his focus, tenure and expertise, to start and grow Avison Young’s property management and lease administration platforms in the Bay Area fills another big piece of our strategic puzzle,” comments Slonek. “Roger has already penetrated key accounts and will leverage his regional relationships into significant market share. He brings with him like-minded contacts, which plays nicely into our cultural focus.”

After spending 17 years building and guiding his own firm into Sacramento’s largest privately-held commercial property management company, Bilstad and his partner sold their firm to Colliers International. This Sacramento office not only led the community in market share, but became one of Colliers’ most successful offices. As one of the firm’s senior executives with local, regional and national responsibilities, Bilstad also created the lease administration platform, regional accounting hub and facility practice focused on corporate headquarters management. He will be implementing the same strategy for Avison Young.

“I am thrilled to be a part of Avison Young’s innovative, client-focused business. Too often today, we see firms looking inward, versus the Avison Young principle of intelligent partnerships that result in extraordinary client experiences.”

Bilstad, a San Francisco native, is a certified property manager through the Institute of Real Estate Management, and a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He holds a BA degree in Education from California State University- Sacramento.
